  4. Strength to Prevent Falls Class

    Each year 35% of adults over the age of 65 fall at least once during their daily activities. Falling significantly increases the risk of fractures in the wrist, hip, and ankle which can lead to significant loss of function. Many people who fall, even if they’re not injured, become afraid of falling. This fear may cause a person to cut down on their everyday activities. When a person is less active, they become weaker and this increases their chances of falling. Come to this class to learn about how you can safely perform strengthening and balance exercise to prevent falls and decrease fear of falling.

    Teams are coached by adult volunteers during this 6-week program. Practices will tentatively begin the week of June 7. This program is designed to meet the needs of all skill levels. Please consider the opportunity to positively influence youth at a young age, volunteer coaches are vital to the success of this program! Practice/Game Times: 5:30 pm or 6:30 pm Practice/Game Days: Tues OR Wed (1 day/week) Location: Moats Park & Pickard Park Registration Deadline: Friday, May 14 Guaranteed availability through May 14, after May 14 spots are not guaranteed and/or available.
