[ARCHIVED] Controlled Structure Burn Notice: 2103 E 2nd Avenue • March 8, 2025

The Indianola Fire Department will conduct a fire training at 2103 E 2nd Avenue on March 8.

This morning, the Indianola Fire Department determined that the weather and wind conditions favor continuing the acquired structure training on Saturday, March 8.

The Indianola Fire Department will conduct a house burn with exterior operations at an acquired structure located at 2103 E. 2nd Avenue, Indianola. This training allows firefighters to practice real-world firefighting techniques in a controlled yet challenging environment.

The controlled burn will commence at 8 a.m. and is expected to last approximately six hours.

Please avoid the training area and note that portions of McVay Trail near the training site will be closed. The Indianola Fire Department will ensure that all necessary safety measures, personnel and equipment are in place to maintain a controlled and secure environment for the burn.

Should there be any further updates or changes, the Indianola Fire Department and the City of Indianola will promptly communicate them.
