[ARCHIVED] Fire Officials Announce End of Warren County Burn Ban

The Indianola Fire Department, in coordination with all Warren County fire departments, has determined that open burning no longer poses a threat to life or property. A request was submitted today, Tuesday, February 24, asking the State Fire Marshal to lift the countywide burn ban.

Pursuant to Iowa Code 100.40, the ban will be lifted at noon February 24. It was first initiated on Saturday, February 14.

The Indianola Fire Department encourages property owners to continue using caution and follow all recommended safety procedures when conducting a controlled burn. The department covers approximately 125 square miles of territory in the center of Warren County. View Coverage Area
