[ARCHIVED] City of Indianola Issues Snow Emergency Parking Ban Effective 3 P.M. Saturday, December 6

Snow Ordinance Reminder for City of Indianola, Iowa

City Ordinance 69.10 prohibits parking on any public street or alley during a Snow Emergency Parking Ban. Due to two or more inches predicted by the National Weather Service, a Snow Emergency Parking Ban will be in effect beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 6.

The ban remains in place for 48 hours after the snow has stopped falling or until the streets and alleys are clear. Vehicles may not be parked on streets or alleys during this time. Once streets and alleys are cleared you may resume parking there.

If your vehicle is in violation of the Snow Emergency Parking Ban, you will be subject to a $35 fine and/or your vehicle may be towed at your expense.

Winter Weather Advisory

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. Saturday, December 6, to 6 a.m. Sunday, December 7. 

Total snow accumulations are predicted between 3 to 5 inches and may create slippery road conditions, the National Weather Service said. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
