The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for portions of southwest and west central Iowa, which includes Indianola and Warren County, from 12-9 p.m. on Friday, March 27.
A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly.
Breezy northwest winds, combined with cured fuels and relative humidity values in the 20s, will create critical fire weather conditions on Friday, the National Weather Service said. Outdoor burning of any kind is not recommended.
Saturday, March 28, is expected to bring stronger winds, lower humidity, warmer temperatures and dry fuels, resulting in continued critical fire weather conditions. The National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
