The City of Indianola is notifying residents and motorists that West Boston Avenue, between N J Street and N I Street, will be temporarily closed to through traffic for approximately two weeks due to necessary storm sewer and street repairs.
During initial prep work, crews discovered underlying issues with the storm sewer pipe beneath the road. These conditions require more extensive repairs than originally planned. A full road closure is now temporarily necessary to complete the work safely and efficiently.
Work Signage & Travel Safety Tips
The construction work zone will be clearly marked to help residents and visitors safely navigate near the closure area. Please follow all posted signs and instructions when traveling near the work zone. We ask all drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to use caution near construction areas, obey posted traffic signs and detours and allow for extra travel time when moving through the area.
Recycling/Trash Collection
All properties directly impacted by the closure should continue placing their trash and recycling bins out on regular collection days.
