[ARCHIVED] City of Indianola Fireworks Ordinance Reminder

Fireworks Ordinance Reminder for the City of Indianola

As we gear up for the Fourth of July, please remember that consumer fireworks, as outlined by City Ordinance 41.14 and Iowa Code 727.2, are allowed this year within City of Indianola limits from:

  • Thursday, July 3: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, July 4: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

This update brings the City into compliance with new state law. Residents are encouraged to review ordinance details to understand how it may affect local celebrations and ensure full compliance. Please note: They are only allowed on private property with the property owner's permission.

Please celebrate responsibly. If you set off fireworks, please be courteous and kindly clean up after your festivities. Failure to comply with the ordinance may result in code enforcement penalties.

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!
