[ARCHIVED] RECAP: Indianola City Council Meets April 21, 2025

UPDATE (Tuesday, April 22): The Indianola City Council met for a regular meeting on Monday, April 21. It can be viewed at the City's YouTube channel.

Among the items Council approved in the regular meeting were:

  • The adoption of an ordinance amending Chapter 99, Sewer Service Charges.
  • The fee schedule for rental fees for the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • A resolution determining property at Regions Bank to be surplus and authorizing sale of said property.
  • The Fiscal Year 26 budget.
  • An employment contract with Jacob Meshke.

During the meeting, Indianola Firefighter/Paramedic Micah Rice was officially sworn in by Indianola Mayor Steve Richardson. Rice was celebrated and recognized alongside council members, colleagues and loved ones.

Additionally, Mayor Richardson made the following proclamations during Monday’s meeting:

  • April 25, 2025: Arbor Day in the City of Indianola
  • April 25, 2025: Jay Byers Day in the City of Indianola
  • May 1, 2025: 50125 Day in the City of Indianola

Next Council Meeting

The next regular Council meeting will be held on Monday, May 5. It is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. and will be held in the Council Chambers at Indianola City Hall, located at 110 N 1st Street, Indianola, IA 50125. A livestream will also be available.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Council Chambers at Indianola City Hall, located at 110 N 1st Street, Indianola, IA 50125.
