PSA from the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) Department
This past weekend WRRF staff was called out twice for homeowners with sewer backups. Both times staff went and jetted out the city’s sewer main only to find out that the homeowners line was plugged due to flushing the wrong products.
As toilet paper supplies on store shelves diminished with COVID-19 concerns, we witnessed people turning to alternatives. Knowing the problems that are caused with flushing non-flushables, we put together a graphic to remind people that the only thing safe for sanitary systems is toilet paper. Keeping your sanitary systems functioning properly and efficiently should be high on all our priority lists and to avoid the cost of having a plumber come out and unplug your sewer line.
