Join City Horticulturist Angie Buchanan at Buxton Park on Sunday, October 18, to harvest fall blooms on the day before parks staff and volunteers begin fall cleanup. Bring hand shears or pruners and a vase or container (no larger than a 5 gallon bucket) with water in it for the stems you will cut. Gloves are optional. Register up to two people per family and plan to wear a mask or be socially distanced from others during the event. You will have an hour to choose and harvest your blooms. Once you're home and have created your bouquet, take a photo and post it on our FaceBook page with the hashtag #BuxtonBouquet. Or email your photo to parkrec@indianolaiowa.gov and we will upload it for you. A $20 gift certificate for the 2021 Plant Sale will be awarded to the bouquet with the most FaceBook likes by Friday, October 23 at 9:00 am. Two runners up will receive a gift certificate for a free annual plant from the sale.
