The Indianola Activity Center is home to the Indianola Parks & Recreation office.

It also functions as the area's senior center, and provides activities for adults age 50 or better.

All activities are free unless noted, and there is currently no membership fee. $2 per week donation is suggested.

The Indianola Activity Center is Open!

Reduced Hours
In order to accommodate increased cleaning protocols, the building will be open for public access from 8 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday

Check In Procedure
All building visitors must check in at the front window with Parks & Rec staff. This includes a brief health screening.

Masks are Required at All Times

Group Seating is Temporarily Removed
Social distancing guidelines have prompted us to remove group seating in the lobby.

Arts & Crafts Room
Open by appointment. Limited to use by 4 people at a time.

Billiards Room
Open Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.
Play limited to two tables at a time, must not be adjacent tables.
Check out balls at the front office.
Players may use their own cue, or check one out from the office.
Players may bring one younger guest player per visit.

Buxton Room Activities
The kitchen will be closed, and drinking fountains in the building are shut off. You may bring your own drinks, but no snacks.  Potluck is suspended until further notice.

Bingo
Seating will be arranged to allow for 6 foot social distancing.
Players will volunteer to call (no outside callers).
Players may bring their own drinks; no snacks are allowed.
Staff will distribute Bingo cards that players will use for the entire afternoon.

Pickleball
All shared equipment must be cleaned with the provided disinfectant wipes between use by different players.

Computer Lab
Open by appointment. Limited to one user at a time.

Conference Room Closed
Activities that met in this room will be held in the Arts and Crafts Room, or the Buxton Room.

Exercise Room
Open by appointment. Limited to use by one person at a time.

Conditions during this pandemic have continually evolved and changed, and we are committed to developing practices and procedures that will keep our community safe, yet still offer the high-quality programs our department is recognized for.

Governor Kim Reynolds, the Iowa Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control 
continue to encourage people with pre-existing medical conditions
and those older than 65 to continue to limit activities outside of their homes.

Any Iowan considering joining senior center or adult day program activities 

should make their own decisions about whether they can safely participate.
