Sign Permit

A Sign Permit is required to install, alter, repair, replace or relocate any advertising sign as established by the city Code.

Special Notes

  • Persons must file an application, along with plans that adequately detail the work to be covered by the permit.
  • The plans are reviewed by the Building Official before approval.
  • All illuminated signs shall be subject to the provisions of the Electrical Code of the city.
  • Signs such as garage sales, realtor, or political signs are exempt from permits, but are still regulated by the sign ordinance.


All work for which a permit is required is subject to inspection by the Building Official. The applicant is responsible for contacting the Community Development Department at appropriate intervals during construction.


Permit is usually granted in 2 to 5 business days.
